Alpha Packaging has launched a new Web site at www.alphap.com which gives customers and prospects the ability to order product samples online. The new sample ordering system was introduced when Alpha moved its web site to the new URL.

With the new online product database and ordering function, packaging buyers can browse Alpha’s catalog of stock bottles and prototypes and add the items they want to a “shopping cart.” When they are done shopping for samples, they simply click a button to view their selections and complete a brief order form. Alpha will send up to 24 samples to an address free of charge via ground delivery; companies can also elect expedited shipping when they provide a shipping account number and indicate the shipping service they prefer.

According to Sean Sapienza, inside sales representative for Alpha, sample requests have quadrupled since the shopping cart function was added to the site. “Packaging buyers have always used our online catalog as a reference,” he says, “but they tended to call us to order the samples they needed. The shopping cart really facilitates the ordering process, enabling companies to build a list of samples without having to write them down and call them in.” Sapienza says the accuracy of sample orders has also improved using the automated system. “Overall, it’s easier, faster and leaves less room for error, so customers and prospects get what they need right away.”
