Alpha Packaging has introduced several new styles of small-sized polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles to appeal to on-the-go consumers who appreciate light-weight and shatterproof packaging when they pack their travel bags.

The seven bottle styles, ranging in size from one ounce to two ounces, are ideal for travel-size quantities of personal care products such as shampoos and conditioners, lotions, shower gels and shaving products. With their small sizes and high-quality appearance, they are also suited for high-end products, such as botanical skin treatments, which are often too expensive when packaged in larger sizes.

Alpha's in-house design and tooling departments used existing preforms for the bottles, which include three sizes of Boston Rounds (1-oz., 1.5-oz. and 2-oz.), a 1-oz. Slim Cylinder, a 2-oz. straight-sided cylinder, a 40cc wide mouth oblong and a custom 2-oz. oblong with elegantly tapered sides.

Alpha will stock most of the travel-sized bottles in clear, white and light amber. With Alpha Packaging's limitless color matching for PET, customers can match the color of their travel-size bottles to existing packaging lines for brand consistency. Other colors, including pearlescent and fluorescent colors, can be matched at very reasonable costs for relatively low minimums, and most custom-colored bottles will be delivered within four to six weeks of the order date.

In addition to these stock travel-size bottles, Alpha has developed a variety of PET prototype molds in sizes four ounces and smaller.
