Alpha Packaging has just announced the
opening of a new 120,000 square foot plant in Jacksonville,
FL. The new facility is Alpha’s fourth strategically-located
plant, joining existing plants in St. Louis, Salt Lake
City and Bethlehem (PA). The Jacksonville location will
primarily service customers in the health and beauty
aid (HBA) and pharmaceutical markets, with a series
of new blow molding machines on order. The plant is
expected to be fully operational in the first quarter
of 2007. Jacksonville will run seven PET (polyethylene
terephthalate) blow molding machines to meet demand
for both narrow neck and wide mouth styles.
Nationwide, Alpha is adding new blow molding machines
at each of its plants, and increasing total manufacturing
by more than 25%. Currently, 16 new machines are on
order, including 1- and 2-stage PET molding machines,
and HDPE (high-density polyethylene) injection blow
molding machines.
Dave Spence, Alpha’s President and CEO, says,
“This added capacity comes at just the right time,
allowing us to deal with new organic growth opportunities
and significantly expand our range of stock product
lines.” In 2006, Alpha has launched 34 new containers,
adding to its impressive stock product lines for the
HBA industry.
Spence adds, “These are exciting times for us
at Alpha, and we look forward getting our new Jacksonville
facility up and running, and delivering the added capacity
these sixteen machines will provide us.”
