The National Association of
Container Distributors (NACD) recognized two of Alpha
Packaging's plastic containers with the 2005 Bronze
Award in the Food category and Best Creative Use of
Stock Components Award in the HBA category.
The NACD awards are given to the distributors
who oversee the package design development process, and one award
often recognizes the work of multiple manufacturers.
Distributor Industrial Container & Supply Company
received the Bronze Award in the Food category for its use of several
sizes of Alpha's "Get-a-GripT" high-density polyethylene (HDPE)
canisters for Bear Creek Soups. Alpha's "Get-a-Grip" canister was
recognized for its dust free and stackable components as well as
its wide mouth that allows dried products, soups and drink mixes
to be dispensed with ease. The container's side grip was noted
for accommodating most hand sizes and aiding in dispensing.
Alpha's "Get-a-Grip" line
of canisters is ideal for any type of dry, granular or powdered
product sold in large quantities, including soups, beans, rice,
cereals, sugar and spices, nutritional supplements, chemicals
and other dry mixes. Two styles of neck finishes (110-400 and 603
Snap) are wide enough to accommodate scoops.
The NACD also recognized
the OPI Manicure Line, brought together by distributor Alico
Packaging, in the Creative Use of Stock Components for the HBA
market. Alico won for helping OPI create a consistent packaging
look that inlcuded Alpha's polyethylene (PET) Squat Boston Rounds
in addition to jars, bottles and pumps from five other manufacturers.
The Manicure Line was noted for successfully matching one pearlized
color on packages made from three different materials: PET, polypropylene
and high density polyethylene.
Alpha Packaging is well-known for
its PET color-matching capabilities that allow for true color
matches in transparent, translucent, opaque or metallic PET. For
the OPI line, Alpha worked with the existing components in the
line ® including a special pump dispenser
® to match the color and pearlescent finish.
The recognition for
Alpha's design capabilities follows other prestigious packaging
industry awards recently won by Alpha, including the NACD's Award
of Excellence, HVL's Top Packaging Supplier and Berlin Packaging's
2004 Plastic Supplier of the Year and overall Supplier of the
Year awards.
